About Marie's....

It all started in 1990, when a lady by the name of Marie, a mother of 4, started baking gingerbread out of her home for family and friends. Marie quickly gained a reputation for her scrumptious, mouth-watering gingerbread and soon after a small home-based business, Marie’s Gingerbread Creations, was born.  Using a tried and true family recipe that calls for one hundred percent pure molasses, freshly ground ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg, and her family by her side, the production of Marie’s gingerbread houses and cookies shifted into overdrive.  As the business grew Marie’s Gingerbread relocated to a new location where it served it’s clientele for an additional 10 wonderful years and became one of Ontario’s’ most successful small business’s specializing in gingerbread.  (Winner of the Scarborough Chamber of Commerce Small Business Award)

Now in its 21^st year, Marie has retired from the business and her eldest daughter, Dawna, who has been baking, creating and decorating since the inception of Marie’s has continued the business as Marie’s Gingerbread Shop Inc.  With the next generation at the helm, Marie’s continues to bake and decorate thousands of gingerbread houses each year and has also expanded its product line to include a hand made sugar cookie, which is sure to please everyone!
